GRP Railing

Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP): ideal for chemically aggressive environments

GRP is ideally suited to chemically aggressive interior and exterior environments, e.g. coastal or industrial plant areas, where a risk of corrosion degrades the long term reliability of susceptible materials, particularly metals.

Is a steel or aluminium solution appropriate for the installation environment?

In harsh environments even highly alloyed stainless steel can be susceptible to failures relating to pitting, crevace, galvanic and stress cracking corrosion. Even where adequate grades of material have been selected, it's possible for structures to fail catastrophically due to other factors such as intergranular attack and weld decay.

Expert design and installation for GRP railings, gantries and access platforms

We design and install corrosion resistant, high strength, lightweight, non-conductive, cost effective, low maintenance GRP railings.

Although a theoretically limitless range of applications is available, we typically supply:

  • Staircases
  • Walkways
  • Platforms and gantries

Fire retardant

Fire retardance is achieved using polyester or vinylester resins. Factory joints are generally bonded or made with mechanical connections.

Strong and resilient

  • Structurally strong and rigid
  • Generally bonded or mechanical factory joints
  • High impact and fatigue strength
  • Corrosion resistant

Safe

  • Non-conductive
  • Non-sparking
  • Slip resistant gritted surfaces

Cost-effective

  • Lightweight - can be hand carried into difficult access areas
  • Virtually maintenance free
  • Can be part-assembled prior to installation
