Roof edge protection
Fixed edge protection for roofs that already have a parapet, without touching the membrane.
Our Fixed Railing System is an ideal solution for roofs where existing parapets do not offer sufficient fall protection or when there is limited space available. This Guardrail consists of galvanised steel posts and anchor bolts that are installed on the top of a wall or parapet to create a secure barrier. The guardrail is adjustable, allowing it to be extended or shortened depending on the required length and can be customised with accessories such as handrails and toe boards for added safety. This system is particularly suitable for historical buildings because of the low level of their parapets. The guardrail can be fixed either on the top or side of the parapet, creating a permanent and reliable form of collective fall prevention.
Depending on the requirements of your project, our Railing System can be fixed either on top or the side of the parapet. Side Fixed - This requires minimal space and usually does not risk damaging any waterproof membrane when mounted to the parapet. It also reduces visibility from ground level, making it a good option for projects where aesthetics are important. Top Fixed - This is the easiest way to bring any parapet up to 1.1m in height, providing complete collective fall protection as required by HSE.

The Work at Height Regulations put collective protection first. A parapet guardrail gives you that, and our inspection service keeps the records current.

FAQs
Parapet height, top or side fixing, colour matching, and what to do when the parapet is too weak.
For permanent edge protection the finished height should be 1.1 m. If your parapet is lower, a parapet guardrail fixed to the top of the wall raises it to that height and provides complete collective protection.
Top fixing is the simplest way to reach 1.1 m on almost any parapet. Side fixing needs very little space, keeps the rail lower from street level and usually avoids any risk to the waterproof membrane, which makes it popular on historic and listed buildings. Our survey recommends the right option for your wall.
The guardrail bolts into the parapet, not the roof, so the membrane isn't touched. Side-fixed brackets are usually the lowest-risk option where the membrane runs up the inside face of the wall.
Yes. The galvanised tube and fittings can be powder-coated to any colour or finish, so the rail blends in with the façade.
If the wall can't take anchor bolts, a freestanding Kee Guard® rooftop guardrail sits behind the parapet on counterweighted bases with no fixings at all.
